He was predeceased by: his mother Bertha McCoy; and his grandparents, Glen, Esther Maggard, George and Lucy McCoy.

He is survived by: his father John Sr. McCoy; his wife Stephanie; his children, Nicole McCoy of Grand Junction, Cody McCoy of Zeeland, Jessica Wright (Aaron Zoerhoff) of Holland, Scott Wright of Holland, Rusty Jackson of Allegan and Quintin McKee of Zeeland; his grandchildren, Isabella, Jaxx-Lee, Amaryllis, Vivian, Aurora and Ryder; and his siblings, Brenda Lambers (Leonard), Barbara Miller (Bob) and Jeremiah McCoy (Katie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
