He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Samuel Huizenga and Irene Huizenga (Bokholdt); his wife Carol; his daughters, Debra Harjes (Jeff) of Brohman, MI, Elizabeth Robertson, Susan Davis (Dean) and Dawn Huizenga (Tim Purk); his grandchildren, Carolynn Freeman (Steven) and Dallas; and his great grandchildren, Katrina Chapman of Grand Rapids, MI, Leigha Chapman, Wyatt Freeman and Dallas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bangor American Legion Post #160 or Blue Star Mothers of Southwest Michigan #179.
