He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert and Hester Burgess, Sr. (Van Tol); and his siblings, Priscilla and Bob Burgess. He is survived by: his wife Jean Burgess; his stepson David Bowers of Grand Haven; his siblings, Tom Burgess of Grand Haven, David Burgess (Sue) of San Jose, CA and Lyn Burgess of Muskegon; and his sister-in-law Linda Burgess of Grand Haven. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
