It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Kane of Grand Haven, Michigan, born in McBain, Michigan, who passed away on December 30, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Scheltema and Mary Scheltema (DeBack); her husband Robert Kane; her former husband William DeBack; her siblings, Ernest Scheltema, William Scheltema, Marian Keway and Nellie Laman; and her son-in-law John Underwood.
She is survived by: her children, Jacqueline Steenhagen (Jim), Cynthia Deming, Marie DeBack, Mary Louise Underwood, Kristina Baldry (Will) and Lee William DeBack; her stepchildren, Lorraine Kane, Loretta Kane and John Kane (Helen); her grandchild Forty; and her siblings, Lucille Kuipers, Phyllis Button, Philip Scheltema (Tang) and John Scheltema. She is also survived by Forty-two great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson.
