He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Groenevelt and Dorothy Groenevelt (Stegenga); his former wife Jane Sonnenberg; his wife Lois Ruster; his son Bryan Groenevelt; and his grandson Nathan Groenevelt.
He is survived by: his daughter Diane Groenevelt (Lynn Michael Smith); his stepdaughters, Janna Hayes (David) of Grand Haven and Christy Bradford (Larry) of Muskegon; his sons, Kevin Groenevelt (Renee) of Grand Rapids and Mark Groenevelt (Chris) of Traverse City; his stepson Mark Dresen (Luann) of Kalamazoo; his daughter-in-law Lorrie Groenevelt of Traverse City; his brother Gordon Groenevelt (Clarissa) of Spring Lake; and the mother of his children Joyce Lincoln of Spring Lake. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
