With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Patricia Vredeveld of Grand Haven, Michigan, born in Holland, Michigan, who passed away on February 3, 2021 at the age of 58. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Lester Vereeke; her brother Richard Vereeke; and her parents-in-law, Theodore and Jodean Vredeveld. She is survived by: her mother Leona Vereeke (Wiersema) of Holland; her husband Craig Vredeveld of Grand Haven; her daughters, Alison Kanouse (Jeremy) of Grand Haven, Amanda Vredeveld of Grand Haven and Leslie Witte (Noah) of Grand Haven; her grandchildren, Autumn, Guage Kanouse and Liam Witte; her siblings, Janice Aalderink (Ken), Kathleen Adair, Nancy VanLiere (Tom), Barbara Otten and Jerry Vereeke; and her siblings-in-law, Jeff Vredeveld (Jennifer) and Lori Carskadon (Joe). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Grand Haven High School in honor of Mama V to support what she was passionate about: GH Wrestling, the Greenhouse, the Food Pantry and individual students needs.

“Patti and I were both WO panthers but a year apart. I got to know her when she came to work at Grand Haven High School. She had such a big heart-for all students, not just the students in her care. She was such a friend following the death of my mom from breast cancer. I called her “my voice of reason” as she often helped me see things clearly. What a gift she was to so many.”
