She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Frank Kish (Margaret Rose Lucas Kish) and Hungarian; and her sister Rosemarie Evenhuis (Jim Evenhuis). She is survived by: her husband John Sherwin "Jack" Steinmetz; her children, Edwin J. Steinmetz II (Susie) of Fair Haven, MI, Heather Gardner of Birmingham, MI, Heidi Jensen (Todd) of Powell, OH, Dr. Bridget Chaves, EdD (Robert) of Milford, DE and Dr. Christine Steinmetz-Weiss; her grandchildren, Margaret Amory, Ashby Amory, Marcos Jensen, Weston Gardner, Nathan McCatty and Jake McCatty; and her caregivers, Kim, Amy, Maddie and Annie. She is also survived by nephew and many cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 7:30 PM at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home (1500 Robbins Rd, Grand Haven, MI 49417). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (508 Franklin Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417).
