He was predeceased by: his father John D. Cooper; his stepfather Tom Guerrero; his son John B. Cooper; his grandson Liam Holmes; and his longtime fishing buddy Ed "Fast Eddie" Smith.
He is survived by: his mother Marie A. Cooper (Rasey) of Fruitport, MI; his fiancée Catherine Holmes; his children, Lindsey Cooper (Jordan Cahill) of Ionia, MI, Savana Cooper of Denver, CO and Benjamin Cooper of Fruitport, MI; his stepchildren, Jennifer Jacobs (Cody) of North Muskegon, Casie Holmes (Lucus Leiter) of Muskegon and Brandon Holmes (Alyssa) of Roosevelt Park; his daughter-in-law Amber Cooper of Charlotte, NC; his siblings, Scott Cooper (Rikki) of Fruitport, MI and Tracy Cooper of Grand Haven; his stepbrother Bryan Guerrero (Rhonda); his friend Craig "Cliffy" Clark; and his pet Chase. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
