He was predeceased by: his father Louis Schelven; and his brother-in-law Russ Kent. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Kent; his children, Michael Van Schelven (Lisa) of Grand Haven, Michigan, Mary Lauth (Jay) of Denver and Michelle Boeve of Sarasota, Florida; his grandchildren, Madeline Van Schelven, Seiver, Ryer Lauth, Jack and Aaron Boeve; his brothers, Bob Van Schelven (Caroline) and Donn Van Schelven (Judy); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Parsons (Dave) and Bob Kent (Marge).
