He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elbert Heiss and Josephine Heiss (Carrier); his wife Joyce Heiss (VanSplinter) of Grand Haven; his children, Calesta Procko (Edward) of Ravenna, Kimberly Flynn (Timothy) of Grand Haven and Jerome Jr. Heiss (Vida) of Grand Haven; his grandchildren, Bradley Procko (Laura), Kortney Dresen (Joseph), Daniel Procko (Tosha Conley), Jason Flynn (Ayla), LaRae Mansel, Melissa Flynn (Marty Livingston), Tabbi Manzel and McKenzie Roberts (Kody); his great grandchildren, Chloee, Riley, Brooklyn, Aubree, Richard, Boen, Abel, Kennedy, Jayce, Autumn, Kiley, Hudson, Ava and Kooper; his sisters, Linda Van Slyke and Sandy Taylor (Bill); his brothers-in-law, Rodney Whitney, Keith VanSplinter, Jack VanSplinter and Rick VanSplinter; his son Jeffery Scott Heiss; and his grandson James Flynn.
