It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jacob W. Achterhof of Grand Haven, Michigan, who passed away on April 9, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Achterhof and Henrietta Achterhof (Bus); and his siblings, Joan Achterhof, Harriet Achterhof, Katheryn Van Oordt, Jean Prys, Kenneth and Harold Achterhof.
He is survived by: his wife Jan; his children, Brenda Teunis (John) of Grand Haven, Beth VanMeurs of Grand Haven and Bryan Achterhof of Grand Haven; his grandchildren, Joshua Teunis (Lauren), Lindsay Williams (Chase), Lexie Priess (Troy), Emily, Tyler and Abby VanMeurs; his great grandchild Magnolia Grace; his brother Alvin Achterhof (Effie); his sisters-in-law, Shirlee Achterhof and JoAnn Reenders; and his friends, Ron and Pat Fischer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home (1500 Robbins Rd, Grand Haven, MI 49417). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
