He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward and Jeritza Lou DeCheney, Sr. (Akers); and his brothers, John DeCheney, Jr. and Craig DeCheney. He is survived by: his wife Linda L. DeCheney; his sons, Ryan DeCheney and Kyle DeCheney; his grandson Gage DeCheney of Grand Haven; and his brother Brad DeCheney (Sonya) of Hesperia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
