She was predeceased by: her former husband Andy Groenhout; her parents, Grace Heyblom and Zegar Heyblom; the father of her children Clyde VanArkel (Andrew Groenhout); and her siblings, Grace Kruizenga, John Heyblom, Gil Heyblom, Joan Niven and Mary Veurink.
She is survived by: her husband Clyde VanArkel; her children, Carol Schmidt (Jim) of Phoenix, AZ, Judy Parsons (John) of Traverse City and James Van Arkel (Nancy Anderson); her brother Tom Van Arkel (Caryn) of Grand Haven; her stepchildren, Linda Cotts (Ed), Barbie Koeze (Phil), Dan Groenhout (Joan) and Sally Stewart (John); her grandchildren, Kelly Eaton (Doug), Brad Schmidt, Scott Schmidt (Kerrie), Michael Parsons, Brian Parsons, Torey Kittleson (Dan), Ashley VanArkel and Shelby VanArkel; her siblings-in-law, Leona Heyblom and Gordon Veurink; and also Cora. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
