He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert and Jennie (Buikema); his wife Marion Homoly; and his brothers, Robert, Duane and Jerry Nelson.
He is survived by: his children, Maria Nelson-Baker (Matt), Mike Nelson (Pam), John Nelson (DeAnna), Paul Nelson (Lori) and Tom Nelson (Joy); his grandchildren, David, Brian, Josh, Kyle, Alesha, Kaitlyn, Kara, Mathew, Jacob, Tera, Brody and Lydia; and his siblings, Linda Brigham (Jim), Ray Nelson (Barb) and David Nelson. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren.
