She is survived by: her close friend James "Jim" Hoekzema; her husband Jim; her children, Heidi and David; her granddaughter Sarah Hoekzema; and her children-in-law, Rick Rupp and Jane Hoekzema (Duba).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Barbara's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
