With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Larry Leroy Schoonmaker of Grand Blanc, Michigan, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Larry Leroy left this world on March 17, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton John and Tiajuanna Schoonmaker (Chivis); and his siblings, Clifton, Jr. and Patricia Schoonmaker Rawlings (Forrest). He is survived by: his brother Cliff Schoonmaker (Barb); his nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Vickie, Scott, Kerrie, Denise, Darcy, Debbie, Dawn, Diane and Derick; his former spouse Tom Gatza; his wife Susan Steffek; his daughter Andrea Gatza (Tom); his grandchildren, Levi Gatza, Eli Gatza, Ava Gatza and Holly Gatza; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Steffek Blaske (Tom) and Catherine Arcure.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Swartz Funeral Home (1225 W Hill Rd, Flint, MI 48507). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
