He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Zumwalt and Mary Zumwalt (Edwards); his wife Elizabeth Chapman Givens; and his siblings, Arthur, David Zumwalt and Mary Sue Ewing.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Zumwalt, Julie Juengel (Peter), Scott Zumwalt (Tess) and Lisa Thomajan (Stuart); his grandchildren, Jordan, Amy (Nick), Jason, Aidan, Zayne, Zachary and Cooper; and his great grandchild Savannah Jo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
