He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bowler and Bertha Bowler; and his siblings, Leta Petosky, Amy Smith, Mabel Hakes, Margaret Mater, Hazel Harju, Arlen Bowler, James Bowler, J. C. "Smoke" Bowler and Kenneth Mater.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Lee Armstrong of Gould City; his children, Mark Rodriguez (Petra) of Wallace, Fredrick Rodriguez (Paula) of Escanaba, David Bowler (Kayleen) of Wallace, George Bowler (Lori) of Houghton Lake, John Bowler (Heidi) of Seney, Jessica Cram of Vassar and Faith Moore of Saginaw; his siblings, Sidney Bowler (Mary) of Germfask, Ernest Bowler (Dawn) of Germfask, Melvin Bowler (Pat) of McMillan, Doris Smallwood of Belleville and Richard Mater (Laura) of Sandusky; his mother-in-law Louisa Armstrong of North Branch; and his close friends, Donald Wiskin, James Wallace, Ronald O'Neil and Paul Davis. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
