He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Cecil and Adah Gill (Pierson). He is survived by: his wife Alice E. Nurmi; his children, Christine Gerlach (Dale) and Gayle Weber (Rod); and his grandchildren, Kim Fuson (Rob Bronk), Shannon Gerlach (Troy Bassett), Mia Kemppainen (Dave), Mitch Weber (Nicole) and Michael Weber (Mary). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
