He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolf Deschner and Frida Deschner; his brother Eugene Deschner; and his sister-in-law Norma Deschner. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Larime; his children, Karen Long (William) and Randy Deschner (Anne Marie); his granddaughter Erica Long; and his brother Robert Deschner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
