He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Cowan and Mary Cowan (Faris); his wife Nina Ellis; his brothers, Kenneth Cowan and Aubrey Cowan; his sons, Larry E. Cowan and Steven E. Cowan; his grandchildren, Lawton Cowan and Heather Humphries; and his great grandchild Devin Cowan.
He is survived by: his children, Janee L. Cowan Ward (William J.) and Darrell L. Cowan; and his grandchildren, Billy Humphries, Justin Humphries (Krystal), Samuel Cain (Calvin), Benjamin Cain, Chrystal Gleason (Chris), Joe Cowan, Melissa Mahar, Courtney Cowan and Taylor Cowan. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and good friends.
