He is survived by: his wife Kay Newton of Gobles; his sister Angela (Walter) of Taunton, Massachusetts.; his children, Jane Liquin (Daryl) of Palatine, IL, James, Jr. (Karen) of Palatine, IL, David of Hobart, IN, John (Margaret) of Westchester, IL and Matthew (Sharon) of Coralville, IA.; and his grandchildren, Christopher (Reagan), Emily, Allison, James III, Rachel, Sarafina, Samantha, David, Mia and Piper.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home (185 E Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL 60067). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church (1201 E Anderson Dr, Palatine, IL 60074). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery (1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, IL 60162).
