He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Grimes and Erba Elida Grimes; and his brother Robert Grimes Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Charles, Jr. (Wendy), Heather Erbe (Paul), James (Chelsea) and Todd (Kacy); and his sisters, Penny Popp and Judy Holmquist.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gobles UMC.
