He is survived by: his wife Val (Wheelock); his children, Scott Sheffer (Anna) of Grawn and Kris Zimmerman (Eric) of Marco Island, FL; his siblings, Barbara McCaffrey, Michael Sheffer, Gloria Schroeder and Rick Sheffer of Traverse City; his grandchildren, Nicole Zimmerman (Adrienne) of Phoenix, AZ, Andrew Zimmerman of Allenhurst, GA and Alison Zimmerman (Tyler Doehring) of Grand Rapids; and his great grandchildren, Nolan King-Zimmerman, Maxwell Zimmerman and Sophia Zimmerman Doehring.
