He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Schiemann and Anna Schiemann (Ziemer). He is survived by: his wife Jean Schiemann (Beutler); his siblings, Dorothy Stehlik, Richard Schiemann and Linda Schiemann; his children, Lonnie Ulrich (Randy), Lettie Krell and Walt Schiemann Jr. (Tracy); and his grandchildren, Joshua, Javin Schiemann, Mikhayla Hogan (Nathan), Caleb, Claire, Jordan, Josiah and Oliva Ulrich.
