He was predeceased by: his father Aldon Dowd; and his brother Greg. He is survived by: his mother Evelyn Dowd (Marshall); his wife Lana Shirkey; his daughter Emily Dowd (Michelle Ballard); his close friend Moose; his siblings, Kevin Dowd (Jenny) and Colette Ford (Jim); and his siblings-in-law, Alan Shirkey (Brenda), Steve Shirkey (Monica) and Denise Redman (Phil).
