He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe C. Koontz and Hazel B. Koontz (Hilts); his son Leonard Koontz; his grandson Bruce LeBlanc Jr.; and his sisters, Onalee Kerblewski (Elmer) and Evelyn McIntosh (Lyle).
He is survived by: his wife Caroline R. Peters; his stepchildren, Linda Gower (Del) of Yuma, AZ, Kevin Koontz (Robin) of Gladwin, MI, Jeff (Sally) of Temperance, MI and Terry (Rita) of Gladwin, MI; his daughter-in-law Paula Koontz; and his sister Sharon Erstad (Ken).
