Lona Mae Easlick Obituary

Lona Mae Easlick, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully at her home on April 19, 2025, following a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 20, 1943, in Grayling, Michigan, to the late Leonard and Beulha (Myers) Wykoff, Lona's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family.

Lona's journey began in the small town of Grayling, but her heart and her legacy would touch many. On February 12, 1961, she married the love of her life, Ronald Easlick, in Roscommon. Their union was blessed with unwavering companionship and mutual respect, until Ronald preceded her in death on June 22, 2012. Together, they raised their family in Flint and later retired to the Gladwin area, where they enjoyed the tranquility of their golden years.

Lona was the cherished mother of Teri Downs, Trisa (John) Doan, and Tony (Suzie Stickle) Easlick. Her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was one of her greatest joys, as she was blessed with four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family gatherings she hosted were filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of her loving spirit. Lona also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember her nurturing presence.

Lona's siblings, Floyd Wykoff, Peggy Sutherland, Bonnie Kirchner, Charlie Wykoff, and William Wykoff, preceded her in death. Each held a special place in her heart, and their memories were treasured in the stories she shared.

Lona's zest for life was evident in her many interests. She found joy in trips to the casino, where her spirited nature shone brightly. Bowling was another pastime she enjoyed, along with the intricate art of crocheting, which allowed her to create beautiful keepsakes for those she loved. Family events were the highlight of her calendar, as she believed in the importance of staying connected and fostering the bonds of kinship.

Those who knew Lona would describe her as loving, generous, and spirited. She approached life with an open heart and extended kindness to all she met. Her legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and the enduring power of family ties.
