He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Coats and Annie Coats (Switzer); and his in-laws, Bonnie and Howard. He is survived by: his wife Teresa McKimmy; his sons, Lyle Coats and Luke Coats; his sister Amy Hill; his niece Ally; his nephews, Jake and Cullen; and his siblings-in-law, Ellen Kent (Pat), Toby McKimmy and David McKimmy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund in Clare.
