He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Coats and Ruth Coats (Hanner); his in-laws, John and Katherine Karolewski; his great grandchild Emersyn; and his siblings, Delores (Infant), Wilma Newman, Carolyn Newman, Joe and Ralph.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Karolewski; his children, Dean Coats (Jeri Miller), Darin Coats (Anna) and Doreen Gould (Kevin); his grandchildren, Matthew (Alexa), Marina (Nate), Jonathan (Kelly), Alicia (Scott), Laken (Bob), Carson (Megan), Kyle (Savanna), Garrett, Jenna, Natalia and Cash; his great grandchildren, Aynslee, Huxley, Kannyn, Harleigh, Asher, Ellerie, Jackson, Knox and Charlotte; and his sister-in-law Vicki Balzer (Ted). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home (440 E Cedar Ave, Gladwin, MI 48624). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Calendar Sacred Heart Catholic Church (300 N Silverleaf St, Gladwin, MI 48624).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity in Elden's honor.
