He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Wencl and Lillian Wencl (Roth); his brothers, Phil and Andy Wencl; his brothers-in-law, Art Schultz and Dan Sonaty; his great grandchild Cooper; his parents-in-law, Ed and Alice Solis; and his nephew Paul Patton.
He is survived by: his wife Sue of Gladstone; his children, Rudy Wencl Jr. (Nicole) of Colorado, Bob Wencl (Lori) of Menominee, Kim Spawn (Doug) of Minnesota, Christine Kwarciany of Bark River, Michelle Quaghebeur (Wayne Manninen) of Escanaba, Ken Quaghebeur (Jenn) of Escanaba and Nick Quaghebeur of Escanaba; his grandchildren, Hannah (Austin), Kara (Allen), Emma, Colten, Chelsea (Eric), Ross, Hayly, Josh, David, Nickolas (Tahlia), Rebecca (Bill), Lauren, Sarah, Sasine and Nathan; his great grandchildren, Callie, Keagan, Kennadie, Paul, Marci, Olive, Patrick, Loyal, Bennett, Samuel, June, Nohlan and Nadine; his sisters, Lil Schultz, Bev Patton and Sharon Sonaty; and his brothers-in-law, Don and Gary Solid. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
