She was predeceased by: her parents, Fredrick Malnar and Violet Malnar (Olson); her husband Nels Swanson; her son Dave Swanson; and her grandson Brent Swanson.
She is survived by: her children, Teri Carlson (Jim), Ted Swanson (Carol), Tammy Carlson (Bob) and Diane Barnhart (Erik); and her siblings, Fred "Chum" Malnar (Marlene), Bonnie LaBelle, Sally Patterson (Joe) and John Malnar. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Covenant Church of Gladstone (305 S 9th St, Gladstone, MI 49837).
She often would donate her crafts to hospice patients and she also sewed dresses to donate to migrant charities.
