He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin and Madeline Young (Steffic); his wife Rita (Olsen); his siblings, Ilene, Mary, Elsie, Pauline, Chuck, Martin Jr. and Steve; and his granddaughter Emily.
He is survived by: his daughters, Theresa Young of Gladstone and Julie Pfiester (Dean) of Cornell; his grandson Justin Covell (Nicole); his great grandchildren, Hannah, Maddison of East Lansing and Ashley Bowen (Michael); his sister Rose Byrnes of Two Rivers, WI; and also, Margaret of Ann Arbor, James Young and Blaise of Escanaba. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
