He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Grutsch and Marian Grutsch; his wife Sally Brooks Grutsch; and his in-laws, Bill and Jacqueline Brooks.
He is survived by: his children, Seth Grutsch of Gaylord, Shawn Grutsch (Lisa) of Gaylord, Rebekah Hunt (Michael) of Cheboygan and Alexander Grutsch of Gaylord; his grandchildren, Gideon, Liam, Ellie, Josiah and Micah; his sisters, Claudia Libbey (Kent) and Nancy Taylor; and his siblings-in-law, Ginny Petrie (Brad) and Fred Brooks (Cindy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
