He was predeceased by: his father Richard Dale Burd Sr.; his parents-in-law, Albert and Beth Hamlin; and his siblings, Debbie Wheeler and Randy Burd.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy Burd (Hamlin); his children, Nicole Tewksbury (Craig) of Gaylord, Jody Burd of Traverse City and Joshua Burd of Weidman; his mother Carolyn North (Sims) of Gaylord; his grandchildren, Austin, Jorden, Noah, Makayla, Alexia, Dylan, Jason and Bella; his great grandchild Shiloh; and his sibling J. J. Burd.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church (211 Hinman St, Mancelona, MI 49659).
