He was predeceased by: his father Robert B. Lawes; and his brothers, Jim and Bill Lawes. He is survived by: his mother Irene W. Lawes (Balteau) of Gaylord; his daughter Breanna Mund (Chris) of Gaylord; his grandchildren, Ethan and Olivia Mund of Gaylord; and his siblings, Janie Stoner (John) of Rochester Hills, R. Michael "Mike" Lawes of Lansing, Steven Lawes of Gaylord, Suzanne Bur (Joe) of Cheboygan, Brenda Snapp (Doug) of Gaylord and Timothy Lawes (Tonia) of Gaylord. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
