He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leroy and Alease Lulu Hayes; his brother Steve Hayes; and his son Mark Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Jamie Deffes (John), Jeff Mendillo, Chris Hayes (Sandy), Angela Corey (Russ) and Sean Hayes (Julia); and his brother Richard Hayes (Martha). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
