He was predeceased by: his parents, Ignatius Smolarz and Hedwig Smolarz (Dzwik); and his sister Regina Renkiewicz. He is survived by: his wife Marie Kurth; his children, Becky Ohlrich (Marvin) and Dwayne; his grandchildren, Jessica, Arran and Alex; and his siblings, Martin (Ruth), Richard (Dee) and Blanche Franckowiak. He is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
