He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Zimmerman and Mary Zimmerman (Merbs); his stepfather Maynard Brown; and his siblings, Bill Zimmerman, Bernadine DeBaene, Clyde Zimmerman and Norma Johnecheck.
He is survived by: his wife Alice; his children, Darren Zimmerman of Eaton Rapids, MI, Kevin Zimmerman of Boyne Falls, MI, Danielle Schmoldt (Dave) of Onaway and LeAnn Howard (Kyle Shelly) of Gaylord; his grandchildren, Thereseann, Ryan, Kyrsha, Collin, Olivia, Zach, Hailey, Kiercelyn and Kyah; his great grandchildren, Ariya, Akshay, Shakti and Owen; and his sister Maryann Baker (Mabel Howard). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes (205 W State St, Mancelona, MI 49659). A Mass was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (209 Jefferson St, Mancelona, MI 49659).
