He was predeceased by: his father Lagona "Jack" Butts; and his nephew Robert "Bobby" Elzey. He is survived by: his children, Bruce Butts, Scott Butts (Ginger) and Jasmine Adair Coeur; his mother Connie Butts; and his siblings, Cindy Haslip (Ray), Bill Butts (Patti) and Kim Elzey (Ron). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
