He was predeceased by: his parents, William LaPorte and Esther LaPorte; and his siblings, Richard "Dick" LaPorte and Jean Eubank (Judy Kern). He is survived by: his wife Sally LaPorte of Garden, MI; his children, Renee LaPorte-Mossbarger (Jeffrey) of Stuttgart, Germany and Jason LaPorte of Peebles, OH; and his nephew Terry Quenneville of Peebles, OH. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, close friends, and neighbors.

Memorial donations in Bud's name may be made to Tunnel to Tower's Foundation or to Wounded Warrior Project.
