He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty J.; his children, Andrew (Lisa), Matthew (Raz), Jennifer Gartha (David) and Julie VanderLaan (Scott); his grandchildren, Lauren Bohm (Kyle), Jonathon Gartha, Erich Heise (Kelly), Aaron Gartha, Kayla VanderLaan and Anna VanderLaan; his great grandchildren, Lincoln, Audrey, Josie and Franny; and his sister Esther Hollan.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home (1139 Inkster Rd, Garden City, MI 48135). The lying in state was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Guardian Lutheran Church (24544 Cherry Hill St, Dearborn, MI 48124). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
