He was predeceased by: his mother Joyce. He is survived by: his wife Lynda; his father Joe; his siblings, Lorie Thielen (Gregory) and Phillip (Lisa Homberg); his nieces, Amanda Thielen, Katelyn and Emily; his nephew Aaron Thielen; and his mother-in-law Sara Oliverson. He is also survived by extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to U of M Heart Clinic or Medical School.
