Marian C. Doxey Obituary
In accordance with her wish cremation will take place and a memorial service to honor her life will be held at Oakwood Bible Church, 4100 Oakland Dr. Kalamazoo, MI 49008, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, beginning at 2:00 pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to the ASPCA, c/o the funeral home.
Age 86, of Galesburg, MI, passed away on January 14, 2025, at Bronson Hospital with family at her side. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on June 30, 1938, the daughter of the late Clarence and Tillie (Slater) Doxey. Marian was a kind, gentle and loving woman who was a joy to know. She worked hard as a Clerk for Parker Hanniffin for many years. When not working she enjoyed the peace and tranquility of being at home, working in her garden, feeding the birds and squirls and spending time with her pets. She loved animals and was especially fond of her dogs, "Dillan" and "Lucky". She also volunteered at the Galesburg United Methodist Church and for a time was a member of the Galesburg City Council. Above all Marian loved her family; she was especially proud to be a grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived and will be missed. She is survived by two children, James (Dena) Carlson and Renee Carlson; two grandchildren, Jessica (Brad) Barrientes, Melissa Carlson; six great-grandchildren, Tyra (Dany) Flores, MacKenzie Brooks, Shaun Horner, Connor Barrientes, Hannah Barrientes, Andrew Woods; wo great-great-grandchildren, Malachi Brooks and Demein Woods; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a daughter, Rhonda Carlson and three brothers, Clare, Paul, James Doxey.
