She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Sanford and Gladys Sanford (Stillwell); her husband Leonard D. Penny; her son Mike L. Penny; her grandson Brian Gene Penny; and her siblings, Gene Sanford and Janet Chambers.

She is survived by: her children, Gene Penny (Bonnie), Steve Penny (Aurora), John Penny (Debra), Loren Penny (Johanna) and Elizabeth McClenton (Andrew); her daughter-in-law Cathy Penny; and her brother Virgil "Bud" Sanford (Betty). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
