She was predeceased by : her parents, Ralph Wolfin and Frances Wolfin (Drennan). She is survived by : her husband Joe Gilbert; her children, Tammy Bancroft (Gaylon) and Tim Gilbert (Sue); her grandchildren, A. J., Ryan and Kristen; her great grandchildren, Miles, Seth, Bethany, Zahara and Alara; and her brothers, Roger (Rosemary) and Ronnie Wolfin (Jan).

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes - Durand Chapel (501 N Saginaw St, Durand, MI 48429). A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth's name are suggested to the Burns Township Fire Department, 10355 Bath Rd., Byron, MI 48418.
