We are sad to announce that on November 26, 2023, at the age of 76, Carol Jean Bates of Gaines, Michigan, born in Flint, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Thomas Cooney and Thelma Cooney (Preston); and her husband Robert. She is survived by : her children, Robert Bates (Cheryl) of Hampshire, TN. and Tina Bates of Byron; her grandchildren, Daniel Bates of Lynville, TN., Cheyenna Mayfield (Doug) of Spring Hill, TN., Julian Hylton of St. Augustine, FL. and Adrian Hylton of St. Augustine, FL.; her great grandchildren, A. J., Lilly and James; and her brother Thomas Cooney of Flint. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
