He was predeceased by: his brothers, Robert and Ronald; and his grandson Matthew. He is survived by: his wife Lois; his children, Willard Herbert Minnis (Cathy Bunce), LouAnn Prater (Forester), LeAnn Prater and Lori Grinage; his grandchildren, Sara of Brian, TJ, Amanda, Brady and Heather; his brother Norman (Lois); and his sister-in-law Phyllis.

Memorial donations can be made to the Wakeshma Community Church or the Humane Society of Kalamazoo.
