He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter and Myrtle (Eckelbarger); his wife Helen Robinson; his son Michael Hunter; his daughter-in-law Beth Ann Hunter; and his granddaughter Jennie Williamson.

He is survived by: his sons, Douglas Hunter of Athens and Rick Hunter (Gloria) of Battle Creek.
