Lloyd Bastian Obituary
December 31, 2009 Fulton Lloyd A. Bastian, 91, a resident of Fulton passed away on December 31, 2009 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility. He was born on August 22, 1918 in Laurium a son of the late Francis and Laura (Norum) Bastian. He attended Calumet School. On October 21, 1937 he married the former Edna S. Linna and she preceded him in death on June 30, 1999. Lloyd was called to active duty in the U.S. Army. He served as a tank mechanic and was discharged on 12-9-1945. After his discharge they resided in Detroit where Lloyd worked as a tool & die maker and machinist eventually joining a partnership that opened Electromac Inc. The company closed in 1975 and he retired and moved back to Fulton where he opened a small machine shop in the generator building of an old mine building. He was preceded in death by his wife Edna, Daughter Donna, 2 brothers: Raymond Bastian and Jack Bastian and 2 sisters: Mary Farmer and Dorothy Erkkila. Surviving are: 2 Sons: Richard (Bettelou) Bastian of South Lyon, MI Wallace (Mary) Bastian of Battle Ground, WA Brother: Franklin (Toni) Bastian of White Lake, MI 11 Grandchildren 8 Great Grandchildren A memorial service will be held on Wednesday January 20, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
